i'm ready to cancel my church wedding and expensive reception venue for a beach wedding in Los Cabos !?
ok so here is the deal the food and beverage for 150 for a san francisco wedding is getting crazy!!! i want to have a beautiful wedding but don't feel that in this economy we should settle for something mediocre because we cant afford the good stuff :) . i have been doing some research and can have a beautiful cabo wedding for 30 close family and friends for a great price on the beach way below budget with musicians and flowers and the beautiful views of the sea of Cortez's! just a couple of Problems
1. we both have a grand parent that is 90 years old right now and fear they wont be able to travel.
2. my family my mom(dad is deceased), sisters and bro in-laws are all set for cabo and will do whatever i choose to make me happy
but my fiances family has been pushing there church social hall on me for the inexpensive alternative to my wedding. and all though it is a great place it does not reflect me or my fiance's style . i love my future family and want them in cabo with us but i think when we say "ok change of plans" they are going to hate it!!! also me , my mom my sister and some of his family have a timeshare in cabo san lucas so all they will need is a plane ticket, flip flops and a smile!
the option to cancel the church wedding has nothing to do with our spirituality and relationship with our God. We believe even though the sanctuary in a church is a holy place of worship our faith teaches that God is everywhere. we will have a minister officiate on the beach as well as the civil ceremony for legal purposes. We are blessed that my fiance comes from a family of pastors that may come with us , as well as give us our counseling before we get married. we feel for us (not everyone) that it wont be official unless it is officiated by a minister before God.

Cabo wedding? What do you think?
My fiance and I are trying to work out the details and I've heard of a planning service called Weddings in Paradise. They look great, but they require a $200 retainer, and I'm not sure what this includes. What did you (or plan to) do for your Cabo wedding to ensure it was perfect? Its just going to be me and my FH, and a spiritual ceremony to avoid all the blood and paper work (we'll get married here after). We have a baby on the way, and this way we can have a wedding, honeymoon, and a vacation before baby. We also plan to have a reception or ceremony on our 1 year anniversary to include our families in the US. Any information would be helpful, thank you!
